The Virtual Mars Yard

The Virtual Mars Yard (or VMY) is a web based virtual simulation application that mimics the actual Mars Yard in the Powerhouse Museum.

The VMY contains a virtual environment that looks just like the actual Mars Yard and allows you to control a virtual version of our rovers using a similar control interface. You use the VMY to learn how to control a rover before controlling the real rovers over the Mars Yard surface. You can also use the VMY to rehearse your missions and to try “what-if” scenarios for better strategies to achieve your scientific goals.
